This section divides opinion, but in most cases it's simply unnecessary on a professional CV.

Generic hobbies like "reading" or "socialising with friends" add no real value to your application.

The only exception is if a hobby genuinely relates to the role or demonstrates a relevant skill.

A CV writing service Ireland typically advises removing this section unless it strengthens your overall story.

That space is almost always better spent reinforcing your professional achievements instead.
